To help fund Lamb’s Fold, a women’s shelter in Joliet, students fill stockings like this one in Ms. Ann Rapsky’s room at Central Campus.

They are saving the world, one project at a time.

NHS is a community service organization involved in many events.  Currently the project that they are working on is called “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” that helps Lamb’s Fold, a women’s shelter for victims of domestic abuse in Joliet.

“Currently Lamb’s Fold is in desperate need. Funding has been dwindling and supplies are at the lowest point ever,” Ms. Donna Engel, NHS adviser, said.

This year, classes that meet during 2A can bring change to fill stockings in their classrooms. The money then goes to Lamb’s Fold.

Students are encouraged to give from Nov. 29 through Dec. 15.  Last year, NHS collected over $1,500 between the two campuses.

The NHS members of MCHS bring in items to donate to the women such as laundry detergent, trash bags, baby products, personal care products, bedding, and sheets.
