Senior Dylan Pfieffer tees off at Heritage Bluffs. Minooka has beaten both of its conference opponents thus far this year.

After advancing three golfers to the sectional tournament last year, the Minooka boys golf team is looking to win another conference title and advance as many golfers as possible to the state tournament.

Our expectations are the same each year.  We expect to win a SPC conference title and we expect to get individual players deep into the state series,’’ Brian Petrovic, head coach, said.

Last season, the Minooka boys golf team went 7-2 in conference play and an overall record of 8-2 to finish off a nice season.

Minooka only lost one key golfer, Nolan King, who was a big piece of the big four last year. King was a senior last year.

Returning for the Indians this year are senior Dylan Pfieffer, junior Matthew Sitar, and sophomores Luke Petrovic and Kevin Phillips.

“My goal is to go down to state, and top 20 in the state. That’s my goal,” Matthew Sitar, sophomore, said.

Minooka began their season this year with a win against Plainfield South on Aug. 17, and another win against Oswego on Aug. 22.
