The freshman boys basketball team beat Oswego on Dec. 6.

The freshman boys basketball team was victorious 41-21 over Oswego on Dec. 6.

This event was held at Oswego High School. Michael Serra was the leading scorer for Minooka with 13 points, and Nick Wlodek was second in scoring.

It took Minooka a while to get going as the first quarter was slow moving, just not a lot of points were being scored. Oswego couldn’t score either.

Then in the second quarter that changed. The three’s started to fall for Minooka. They got plenty of stops defensively, and finally got on fire.

Minooka just dominated the second quarter and were up big at the half.

“It took us a while to get started, but when we did, it was awesome,” Lucas Thompson said.

Then in the second half it just continued as Minooka dominated on both sides of the floor. Oswego still could not get it going as their struggles continued in the second half.

“In the 4th quarter it was all just fundamentals,” Serra said. “We just worked on our plays up big.”

Minooka dominated in every asset of the game, on their way to a 41-21 victory.

“We worked well together and executed perfectly,” Serra said.

Minooka looks to stay hot as they play Yorkville on Dec. 10.
