The varsity boys volleyball team began play on March 22.

The Minooka boys volleyball team lost 2-0 to Plainfield East at South Campus on April 7. The set scores were 25-19 first set and 25-22 second set.

While the scoreboard did not end up in our favor, I felt that the guys really performed well,” head coach Mike Kargle said.

Minooka fought till the end, having a last-minute push in the second set, in the end losing by 3 points.

Even with a loss there were still some positives to come from the game.

“We performed really well all around,” junior Kevin Murillo said. “This is the first time we’ve felt like a team and played as if we were one person.”

Although Minooka played well, there is still room to improve their game to the next level.

“We just need to find that want and will to do anything to win,” senior Cade Ooms said. “I feel like against East we were in the game and had a chance to win, but just didn’t have the tenacity to make it happen.”
