The varsity boys volleyball team began play on March 22.

The Minooka varsity boys volleyball team won both sets of the match against Joliet Central on April 26 at home.

Minooka played well in the first set, taking it 25-8. The second set Joliet Central picked up their game, but it still wasn’t enough with Minooka winning it 25-21.

“We destroyed Central in the first set, but things got shaky in the second, but we still pulled out with the win,” senior Jason Riley said.

Logan Crowther had a great day serving for Minooka. He served a total of 14 times with 7 of them being aces. Crowther also had 6 kills in the match. Minooka had a total of 17 kills against Joliet Central.

Minooka had a strong game versus Joliet Central and this was expressed by head coach Mike Kargle.

“I was pleased with our effort against Joliet Central,” he said. “We played well as a team. We were able to get quite a few guys some additional playing time which sometimes can lead to confusion on the court.  Our seniors did a great job of leading some of the less experienced guys while they were out there on the court.”

He said their strongest part of the support of each other.

“We played well as a team both in terms of actual performance as well as encouragement. The energy level was really high throughout the entire match,” Kargle said.
