Hogwarts Legacy is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros.

“I think it’s actually a great idea,” junior Giovanni Danno said. “It kind of reminds me of Elden Ring.  I’ve always wanted an open-world-like Harry Potter game. The closest thing to it is the old Lego Harry Potter games that I played when I was younger.”

This game is set in the Harry Potter world. In Hogwarts Legacy, players are able to attend classes at Hogwarts. Players can choose four houses Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff.

In character creation you can change your appearance, house, and gender. Players are able to customize their character’s voices, body types, and add accessories. 

“Being able to customize and make your own character is something a lot of people – especially the fan base of Harry Potter – has been looking for for a while,” said Danno.

Leveling up in Hogwarts Legacy will allow players to access and upgrade different spells, abilities, and talents. Players will learn to cast magical spells, brew potions, and learn combat abilities.

As you progress in the game you start to develop your own special combat abilities. Classes in Hogwarts Legacy will be attended as plot development milestones.

Players can acquire combat items through trading or crafting which can be used to harm enemies or apply buffs.

Players will be able to tame, take care of, and ride different magical beasts including hippogriffs and thestrals. Other interactable magical creatures include dragons, trolls, acromantulas, graphorns, mooncalves, fwoopers, kneazles, and nifflers. Some of these creatures can be used in combat.

Players can establish friendships with NPCs. As they grow, these NPCs can become companions who accompany players on their adventures, expand their abilities, and offer unique dialogue options.

“I feel like there is a lot of untapped potential around that sorta series, in general,” said junior Ash Darken. “It’s very popular. Its been going for a long time. It’s got a very dedicated fan base, It’s just not the best time for it to be happening because of all the controversy surrounding J.K. Rowling.”

There is controversy surrounding this game because of past transphobic comments made by Rowling.
