The boys basketball team has been working hard and has shown immense progress from the beginning of the season until now.

Tonight is one of the most important games of the boy’s basketball season.

The Indians have won 17 games. This is a big game for the team regarding their seeding for sectionals. With a win they hope to move up the sectional ranking into the top four spots.

“We had a really good week of practice. This is our only game this week, and we’re ready,” head coach Scott Tanaka said.

Minooka plays Plainfield Central on the Wildcats’ home court at 6:15 p.m.

The boys have been working hard together as a whole, which is incredibly important especially for tonight’s game. It isn’t typical for teams to make it to 20 wins, but reaching 18 will bring the team closer to that goal.

During practices Minooka really focused on PCHS’s stronger areas.

“We’ve been practicing closing out on the shooters because they have some good shooters on their team,” Adrian Paige, junior said.

Antonio Milazzo, senior said, “We played them in the Thanksgiving tournament and it was a pretty good game, so I think tonight we’ll have a pretty good game again,” he said.

The Indians beat the Wildcats in that tournament, and they have incredibly high expectations for this game and future games.

“We’re expecting to come out with a W after tonight. We have all been working really hard this past week so it should be a good game,” Keegan Graebner, junior, said.

Tonight’s game is also an important reflection on the team’s future.

“This is a big milestone to hopefully get to that 18th win, it’s also one of the games we should win to hopefully win conference,” Kyle Graebner, junior said.
