The Minooka varsity baseball team lost a hard-fought battle against Lincoln Way-West Warriors with the final score being 4-3.
On April 12, the Minooka went into a tough matchup with the undefeated Lincoln Way-West, who had an overall record of 11-0.
The Indians (10-4) were hoping to give the Warriors their first loss of the season.
“We played as hard as we could, but came up short offensively,’’ junior CJ Deckinga said.
That loss brought the Indians to a record of 10-5 which unfortunately cost them their top 10 spot in the state.
“ That one really hurt, a couple of plays really lost us the game,” junior Kevin Bisbee said.
The Indians plan on returning to the top 10 after the end of season.
“We are going to lock in and make simple plays and focus on putting the ball in play, getting hits, and putting pressure on the other team,” Kevin Bisbee said.
The Indians have a long season ahead of them and they are making sure they are coming for every team in the state and have a huge chip on their shoulder.
