After playing three hard games, Minooka had another tough challenge ahead of them going into the game against Bogan High School.

The Bengals beat Minooka, 67-32, in the Rock Island tournament at Rock Island High School on Saturday, Nov. 24.

The Indians were only down 13-7 after the first quarter of the game. But then the Indians started to fall apart. Shots weren’t falling, passes were being stolen, and the defense started to break down. And at the end of half the Indians were down, 41-9.

“We have to go out and fight still, and don’t let the score determine how you play,’’ head coach Kevin Cain said.

Even after half the Indians kept fighting and didn’t give up. But it just wasn’t enough to get back into the game.

“Forget this game. We have to move on to the next one, ‘1-0’ mentality every game,” senior D’Anthony Thomas said.

In the game, the leading scorer for the Indians was Thomas, who came off the bench and scored 12 points.

Also scoring in the game was Jaedon Johnson and Carlos Hernandez with 7 points each. Charles Brown, Michael Zito, and Evan Stonitsch each had 2 points.

“Bogan was obviously a good team, and I think it was great for us to play a team like that to get some experience,” junior Trent Hudak said.

The Indians are looking to pick up a win against Plainfield South on Friday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. at MCHS South Campus.
