The JV boys golf team finished their regular season with an 8-2 record.

The boys JV golf team did not golf their best against Plainfield East, but they still pulled out the win on Sept. 8.

“Putting wasn’t on, ball striking wasn’t on, the short game wasn’t on, their overall game wasn’t on, but we still pulled out the win,” Brian Petrovic, JV boys golf coach, said.

Coye Hefner led the team with 44 strokes through eight holes. He was followed by Keegan Reilly who had 45 strokes through 9 holes.

“We did not play our best but we played well enough to win,” Ethan Walsh, freshman, said.

Walsh had 46 strokes through nine holes, which is 10 above par. This is a pretty good score for a freshman. Walsh had two triple bogeys, three pars, and four bogeys.

Freshman Matt Sergeant had 48 strokes through eight holes; that’s 12 above par. He had four triple bogeys, two bogeys, and two pars. But he didn’t get to finish due to time.

“Daylight wasn’t on our side, but we still pulled out the win,” Sergeant said.

Freshman Will Johnson had 50 strokes through nine holes. That is double bogey golf with a couple of bogeys in there.

“I did not do well at Wedgewood, and I’m honestly surprised we won. I should have done way better,” Johnson said.

Freshman Lucas Heap had similar thoughts.

“I did bad, but it was an ok day with a lot of room for improvement,” Heap said.

Heap shot a 49 through nine holes.
