The Minooka freshman girls volleyball team pulled out the win against Plainfield North in two sets on Sept. 7.

After winning 25-15 and 25-18, Minooka moved to 3-0 on the season.

Minooka played Plainfield North at home. They needed this win to gain confidence. They had a tournament the following week. The starting lineup for the game was Kennedy Walker, Maddie Dostall, Cameron Gracia, Abby Fish, Olivia Kohl, Olivia Boyd, and Makenna Johnson.

“We played well overall against North,” coach Nicole Diamond said. ”We stayed aggressive like we have been working on and we had consistent passing and were efficient.”

The team played together and kept their chemistry in check; they made few mistakes.

“I played great, it was a fun game,” Dostall, outside hitter, said “I had 7 kills. There is always room for improvement and I’m looking forward to getting back to work.”

Some key players in the game were Dostall and Walker.

“The team had good serve receives, good hits, and we also had good energy going into the game which helped us win,” Kohl, outside hitter, said.
