The JV boys golf team finished their regular season with an 8-2 record.

After coming off a nice win against Plainfield East, the Minooka boys JV team was ready for a match against West Aurora. The match was held at  Heritage Bluffs in Channahon on Sept. 13.

Minooka’s top golfers were Keegan Riley (41), Adam Cook (49), Ethan Walsh (51), and Will Johnson (51).

The boys came into this match feeling good playing on their home course and were ready for the match.

The key player in this meet was Riley.

“It was nice weather to play golf,” Riley, sophomore, said.

The role players in the match were Riley and Cook  with some big drives setting them up for success to keep them in the game.

Minooka finished the meet with a final score of 192, beating the Blackhawks by 13 strokes.

“We kept a lot of shots in play,” Johnson, freshman, said

With the boys keeping the ball in play the Indians started gaining momentum and never looked back.

The boys were not hitting the putts very well, according to coach Brian Petrovic.

Even with the boys not hitting putts, they still pulled out with a victory. After this win it put the JV team at 7-1.

Petrovic said the boys overcame adversity to win the meet.
