Safety Efrein Ramirez calls a defensive play against Oswego East on Sept. 30. During the Plainfield Central game on Homecoming, Ramirez had an interception and two fumble recoveries.

Safety Efrein Ramirez had a big game for Minooka as he had an interception and two fumble recoveries in the varsity football team’s Big win over Plainfield Central.  With the win, Minooka improved to 3-1 on the season.

Ramirez´s interception came early in the first quarter. The Minooka defense was all over the place only allowing six points the whole game.

¨Safety Efrein Ramirez is who I would say stood out the most in the game against Oswego,” Cole Spivey,  sophomore, said.

Minooka receiver D.J. McIntosh also had a big game for the Indians with seven catches for 123 yards,  and a forced fumble on a punt.

¨He opened up the passing, which led to opening up the run game, which made it easier to move the ball down the field,” Joey Partridge, junior, said.

Both McIntosh and Ramirez were selected to the Friday Night Drive Team of The Week, which only 23 players across Illinois get selected for each week.

Ramirez was also awarded the MVP Belt for best all around performance in his efforts against Plainfield Central.

Minooka finished the game pulling out a win; the final score was 34-6.
