Q&A with marching band member Riot Offermann

Riot Offermann is a senior in band at MCHS. On Sept. 16, Minooka’s marching band and color guard won the Plainfield South Invitational.  Minooka was crowned Grand Champion (best of all classes) for their performance based on The Phantom of the Opera. Offermann started in band at fifth grade and has continued to pursue band until this day. This interview for Nook News has been edited for length and clarity.

Q:What do you do outside of school for fun?

A: Outside of school I usually sit in my room, play guitar and listen to music.

Q: What is your role in band?

A: We haven’t  given out tests for the wind symphony yet. I play the clarinet. 

Q: Do you enjoy being in the Minooka band?

 A: I do very much.

Q: Are you more introverted or extraverted? 

A : I am very extraverted.

Q: What is your favorite part of being in band?

A: My favorite part of being in band is seeing people and being together with my friends.

Q: I hear you’re in both bands tell me more about that.

A: So I am in the marching band, and I am in the wind symphony. I play clarinet in both yes.

Q: What is your favorite class?

A: My favorite class has to be my first hour sociology.

Q: What are you most excited for this senior year?

 A: I’m probably most excited for senior sunrise, Homecoming Week, and prom.
