On Jan. 6, Minooka’s sophomore boys basketball team lost an away game against Joliet West, 52-45.

Minooka fought to make a comeback from the lead Joliet had early on, but it wasn’t enough in the end.

“I believe the team did very well against a very athletic and quick Joliet West team. Joliet West came out hot and on a run that we just could not overcome,” sophomore head coach Aaron Woods said.

The Minooka boys had their ups and downs throughout the game but still managed to stay in it till the end.

“Our defensive end wasn’t really good in the third quarter, we kinda slipped up after half time,” Minooka forward Michael John said.

Even though the boys took the loss, they are ready to fix up their mistakes and comeback next week. 

“We are coming in confident, we are scoring a lot of points, and getting better on defense,” Minooka guard Cameron Hughes said

Gavin Dupree had 8 points, 7 rebounds and a significant 7 deflections, according to Woods. Sincere Brown added 16 points with 4 steals.
