On April 9, the Minooka girls varsity  soccer team took on Joliet Central in a home game. Minooka won in a 10-0 finish, moving their record to an even 3-3. 

The team had a great game on both sides of the ball with everyone getting equal playtime and ball possession.

“The best part of the game was having more people be able to play and be able to celebrate together,” junior team captain Carlee Rausa said.

The team especially excelled on the offensive side of ball.

“We shot a lot and got a lot of opportunities at net,” senior team captain Callie Hefner said.

The team is off to a great start with all players getting equal opportunities to prove themselves.

“We really created opportunities early and that led to some very unselfish play,” head coach Chris Brolley said. “It’s great to see players have opportunities throughout the season.”

When asking teammates for one player to shout out, Hefner and Rausa were common names specifically highlighting Rausa’s prospering in a new position and Hefner’s talent on both sides of the ball.
