The Minooka girls varsity softball team competed against Joliet Catholic on April 7.  The Minooka girls successfully achieved their win with a score of 17-2. 

The girls made sure to not get down on themselves after little mistakes. They picked each other up and got ready for the next play in the game. 

“The team’s energy and how we picked each other up was definitely the best part of the game,” junior Lexi Bukala said. 

Bukala’s position on the Varsity team is shortstop. She’s been playing shortstop for years and always finds her way to every ball.

“We kept hitting ball at bat the whole entire game,” junior Ava Carlson said. 

The girls made sure to keep their head in the game. Carlson has been on the Minooka varsity softball team since her sophomore year. She is a great hitter when she’s up to bat and is always confident in herself and the team.  

“We won 17-2, we played a great game. I don’t think we would change much. We like those outcomes,” head coach Mark Brown said.

The girls played a great game and had great outcomes.

“This group is incredible. I leave each day with a huge smile on my face, this is a fun group,” Brown said.
