The sophomore Minooka baseball team had a blowout win against Joliet West on April 9.

Two big innings from Minooka drove them to surge past Joliet West, along with their strong defense and pitching. One notable pitcher was freshman Brady Harris, striking out the side in the first two innings. 

“I think the team really stepped it up and we performed very well, we hit the ball all over and our pitching was really good,” sophomore Colton Francisco said.

One of the pitchers, sophomore Nathan Danielson, came into relief and had a good outing. He had nearly two innings with no runs allowed and a strikeout to go with it.

“Personally I feel like I played really well, I took every opportunity I got to play, and I think I used it to do good,” Danielson said.

The final score had Minooka winning 11-2, which moved the sophomore team an 6-0 undefeated record on the year as they gear up to keep the streak alive for future games. 

“We are still growing as a team. I don’t feel we’ve played our best baseball yet. Hoping our team grows and peaks at the right time of the season,” sophomore head coach Brendan Acosta said.
