On April 6, Minooka sophomore baseball defeated Joliet Central with a blow out win 24-1 in 2 innings. 

Minooka came out hot during their warmups and they were ready for the game to start.

Carter Morris likes to give recognition to Colten Francisco and Landon Sopkin starting off hot, batting 1-2 with base hits.

Cooper Hill pitched the whole time and only letting up 1 run in the process of it all.

“Team was very excited to get out there after having a big break from being 3-0.”

Head coach Brandon Acosta on the other hand believed that the game was a rough game for them

“Despite the win, we looked very rusty,” Acosta said, “and it felt like we had to start from the beginning again. We play better when we constantly have practice outside.” 

Graham Lee thought that Minooka’s mindset was very calm, cool and collected and they had the feeling that they were gonna win the game without a doubt.

“Our warmups were really good but we had a very iffy pregame that was scary but it worked out,” Lee said.

Lee would give a shout out to the infield for that game. When they got a ball to them, it was pretty much a lock down defense.

Hill was the starting pitcher and the only pitcher against Joliet Central. He pitched a complete game to shut them out.

“My mindset before the game was to just stay relaxed and make sure to constantly throw strikes and make sure my off speed was hitting my spot,” Hill said.
