Mia Macak plays as a wide receiver on the Minooka Girls Varsity Flag Football team. She has been playing flag football since just this fall.This interview with Nook News has been edited for clarity and length.

Q: Who got you into flag football?

A: I just wanted to play it because it was new and I really wanted to try it out.

Q: Who or what gives you motivation?

A: Coach (Tony) Garcia.

Q: Who pushes you to do your best on the team?

A: My teammates.

Q: How do you feel about playing on the first Minooka flag football team?

A: Super excited and thankful.

Q: What is challenging about the position you play this year?

A: Remembering all the routes I have to run.

Q: Which coach is someone you look up to the most?

A: Coach Garcia.

Q: Were you ever nervous about trying this sport?

A: No, I was mainly excited.

Q: If you looked like any animal, what animal do you think you’d look more like?

A: A turtle.
