The Minooka JV boys golf team played a close match against a tough Oswego East team on Sept. 10. 

Minooka won the match 170-174 at Fox Creek golf course. The medalist of the match was freshman Delso Studer, shooting a 40. 

“I just had a great mindset during school, and when I got to the course it took about 15 minutes on the range and then just got to the first hole and started the match,” Studer said. 

 During the match there were some good scores coming from Minooka with sophomore Colton Francisco shooting 41, freshman Josh Costa shooting 43, and freshman Ethan Lehmann shooting 46. 

“I started off strong, I had a bad first shot off the tee into some trees into the fairway for bogey and then went from there,” Studer said.

 After this bad shot, Studer said he knew he still had a shot to come back. He was locked in and his opponents were not going to affect his gameplay.  Studer said coach Brian Petrovic helped him through the tough shots. 

“We have leaned very heavily on Studer, Costa, Dela Cruz, Francisco, and Lehmann for the bulk of our team scoring this year,” Petrvoic said.  “They have been the five most consistent players thus far this season.”

The Indians are now 8-1-1 going into the conference tournament on Sept. 25.
