Minooka sophomore football had a tough game against Yorkville on Sept. 12. The Foxes came out on top with a final score of 24-14.

“After a loss it is important to stress the positives but also make sure we need to know exactly what we need to improve on this upcoming week,” coach Rob Wendlick said.

The Minooka boys knew this was going to be a tough game against Yorkville, but there still were some good outcomes of the game. 

“The turning point was probably the turnovers we committed that shifted field position and momentum on a few occasions,” Wendlick said.

MCHS made some adjustments at half.

“We were down 14-0 at halftime and fought hard in the second half to score two touchdowns,” Wendlick said.

It was not easy to score those two touchdowns but the boys fought hard and made sure it happened. The touchdown was scored by sophomore Quinn Schiffbauer.

“I caught the pass out of the back field and ran to the end zone to score the touchdown,” Schiffbauer said. 

The sophomore football team worked hard in the first half but they decided to change things up and work even harder the second half.

“I think we almost put it together in the end but we started too late,” tight end AJ Purcell said.
