Minooka girls varsity volleyball defeated Romeoville in a thrilling match, showing superior skills and teamwork.

Minooka played Romeoville for a home game on Oct. 2.

“I am happy that our team came out focused and ready to play,” junior Jerzie Caves said. “It feels good to win another conference game this year and one of our team goals is to win the conference and we are on track to meet our goal.”

Minooka beat Romeoville 25-15 and 25-20. Caves had a total of 6 kills.

“As a team, we played great! Everyone was able to get in the match and contributed to the win,” head coach Carrie Prosek said.

The Minooka girls all came together to get the victory and played a strong game to make Minooka 17-6 overall.

“My favorite moment in the game was when Kendall Kozak got her 1,000th assist. She is my best friend and such an amazing player I am so incredibly proud of her. She works so hard during practice and is such a smart decision maker,” Caves said. 

This was a major achievement for Kozak.

“It felt really good to get to 1,000 assists, but I couldn’t have done it without my team so really it was like everyone contributing because I wouldn’t have had that without my hitters,” Kozak said.
