MCHS played a strong and competitive matchup against Providence in freshman boys basketball on Dec. 1. The Indians came out on top with a 50–37 victory, showing solid teamwork and control throughout the game. 

Freshman Landon Walker led the team in assists with 4 of them.

“We all brought energy in the beginning of the game which helped us create a lead early and we were able to keep that lead the whole game,” Walker said.

At the end of the first quarter, Michael O’Dette his a 3-pointer to give Minooka a 15-11 lead.

In the second quarter, Minooka built a bigger lead before halftime, 31-18, giving them a lot of momentum to start the second half. 

Minooka ended the game with a 13-point lead. 

Brayden Franson scored 10 points, and Jacob Warfield scored 9.

“I feel like we played pretty good. It was a team effort all around, we got a lot of points, a lot of buckets, a lot of buckets and transitions and a lot of teamwork led to the dub,” Franson said.

He felt that the team performed well all around and he was happy with his performance.

“We played well and very organized during the game and the team did pretty well with it being our second win of the season,” Warfield said.

e overall was happy with his performance and the team’s performance.

“It’s still early and we have plenty to work on, but this is the type of performance you like to build off. When kids play hard and are good teammates, it makes the X’s and O’s easy to fix,” coach Tommy Stokke said.
