The boys varsity wrestling team kept up with Yorkville, but unfortunately fell 36-26 on Dec. 4.
The team performed well considering that Yorkville is a good opponent.
The coaches are hoping to improve on this loss.
“I would say that we competed the right way,” coach Anthony Rink said.
One of the best performers in this matchup was senior wrestler Robbie Murphy
“I was very nervous, it was my first match of the year because our first meet was canceled, but I did pretty good, I won my match,” Murphy said.
Some wrestlers were frustrated with the away loss.
“Many mistakes were made, but we got to improve on them in practice,” junior wrestler Justin Majewski, who won his match, said.
Other winners for Minooka were Casey Janicki, Santino Capodice, Jaxon Roberts, Ben Cyrkiel, Sully Lipscomb.
The boys next matchup is on Dec. 11 vs Plainfield North at MCHS.
