The boys freshman baseball team beat Plainfield Central on April 7 by a score of 7-3.
The team played very well and many of their players had great games.
Second baseman Greyson Smith and starting shortstop Brody Fox were both happy with how they played.
“I did very well in the field and hitting,” Fox said.
Coach Matt Shanahan was pleased with the team’s performance against a conference opponent.
“Tuesday’s game was bitterly cold, which made playing conditions very difficult. Our guys did a great job not letting the cold weather impact them. We finished the game scoring 7 runs off 6 hits. Defensively, we played really well as a whole team,” Shannahan said.
He noted that was still early in the season.
“We still have a lot to work on as a team, which is pretty common this early in the season,” Shanahan said.
