The Minooka JV boys volleyball team fought through a rout to win against Oswego East On April 9, Minooka  earned themselves a 2-1 win after a rough first set.

“The first set was pretty bad but then we picked it up and were able to win the game in the end,” said sophomore Gage Taylor.

After losing the first set 25-19, the Indians finally decided to turn it on and start fightingback. The second set was well played with AJ Purcell leading with hitting and Vince Schrementi with blocking. Minooka won 25-23.

After the second set, they got a serving run with Aaron Freidt leading the serve receive by taking up lanes and moving the ball well.

“In the first set we were not taking it seriously and not doing our best, but during the second set we turned it up, and in the third set we let up again but turned it on to win the third set,” said freshman Jackson Herbst.

Minooka took the third set 25-22.

In the final couple points of the last two sets, the Indians proved they could win, taking home the win for Minooka.
